Maria Bruno

Founder and Director
January 30th 1969 - July 17th 2005

Maria had an independent spirit which manifested itself in her fashion sense and the spaces she designed.
Maria was an amazing friend who always made you feel special,
her electric smile and quick wit made anyone feel comfortable around her.
Design At Home, NFP is a demonstration of Maria's belief that everyone can benefit
from the power of design, not just the wealthy.
Maria continually thought big and worked diligently to make Design at Home
an official 501-C3 not for profit organization and was dedicated to getting Interior Design students
involved in the process to learn from the real client and hands on building experience.
It saddens Bree and Rebecca that Maria passed away before Design At Home completed the first family.
Without her, Design at Home would never have become a reality.
Maria died at age 36 surrounded by her family and fiancé after a courageous battle with cancer.
Her strength and passion has been an inspiration to everyone who new her.
